All proceeds from the Battles at Manassas will go toward the purchase and placement of a stone memorial to this area's Confederate soldiers who fought so bravely in the late War of Northern Aggression, also known as the War for Southern Independence. All known veterans from the Tattnall County area who served honorably will be listed on the Memorial Wall. These include unit members of Company G of the 47th Regiment, Company B of the 61st Regiment and parts of the 5th Georgia Cavalry and other units from this area. Back in 1861 Tattnall County covered a larger geographical area than at present. All known residents of the old Tattnall County who fought in the late war will be listed on this Memorial Wall.
We plan to select a suitable site in Reidsville, Georgia, to place the Memorial Wall to bring attention to everyone that we are proud of our heritage. Our Confederate dead are being maligned today through "Politically Correct" propaganda that exists in much of today's media. We want to honor our brave Confederate Soldiers and their memory with this Memorial Wall.
The Tattnall lnvincibles Camp has been actively raising funds for this purpose for the past eight years and we are well on our way toward making this memorial a reality. If you had ancestors who served from Tattnall, Evans, Candler or surrounding areas who may have been a resident of the old Tattnall County, please give us their name, rank and unit designation to be included on the Memorial Wall.
We want you to know that all the gate receipts, vendor advertising, sponsor funds, sales receipts, and all monies raised through this reenactment will go toward this noble project. Any donations will be appreciated and we encourage you to give generously to "The Tattnall lnvincibles Camp #154", Your gifts are tax-deductible. Help us make this project a reality and be a part of history in Tattnall County.
